Committee Updates: September-December 2009

Our philosophy on subsidizing student activity-related expenditures:

In response to the state’s 4% cap on annual budget increases, the HSA stepped up to fill the gap and provides funding for a majority of the activities that our children participate in – assemblies, author visits and some field trips -- as well as specific technology such as smart boards to assist teachers. We hope to continue to benefit our students by fundraising to support activities that enrich their elementary school experience.

BYRD CAN GET CA$H BACK from more than 100 retailers - you shop online for the holidays anyway, so why not let Byrd benefit?

The Boxtops site has a MARKETPLACE tab, where you can shop at Gap, eToys, Nordstrom, Pottery Barn Lands End , Leap Frog, PetSmart, Wal-Mart, Limited Too, to name a few, and a percentage of your purchases goes back to our school – in cash!

BOX TOPS for Education

Byrd raises several hundred dollars a year just by collecting the 10¢ Box Tops coupons donated by parents and students.  Each classroom as well as the main office has a Box Tops container set up.

The 10¢ Box Tops coupons can be found on hundreds of familiar products from General Mills, as well as on Ziploc and Kleenex products, too.

For a list of all products, visit: http://www.boxtops4education.com/Image.aspx?id=2164

Weekly ice cream sales are every THURSDAY.

We sell a variety of ice cream treats every Thursday during lunch, priced from 25¢ to $1.00.  With nutrition and health in mind, we are limiting purchases to one ice cream per child.  Here's what's on the menu!     Contact: Jen O'Toole or Jill Orlich
