New! Glen Rock School District's Engineering Program makes front page of the New York Times Studying Engineering Before They Can Spell It In a Glen Rock, N.J., kindergarten, testing a wolf-proof house.
By WINNIE HU Published: June 13, 2010.GLEN ROCK, N.J. — In a class full of aspiring engineers, the big bad wolf had to do more than just huff and puff to blow down the three little pigs’ house. To start, he needed to get past a voice-activated security gate, find a hidden door and negotiate a few other traps in a house that a pair of kindergartners here imagined for the pigs — and then pieced together from index cards, paper cups, wood sticks and pipe cleaners. New! Hail and Farewell to School Nurse Judy Mullane
"A few musings on my departure..." As we approach the conclusion of the school year, I too, am closing a chapter of my life. As many of you know, I shall retire at the end of the month and travel the road not yet taken. more
A BIG "THANK YOU" FROM MRS. MALLACH To all the parents who have volunteered to help in our Media Center this year, without your assistance, our library would not be as warm and caring; you've made it lots of fun! Your help with checking out books, reshelving books, and helping me with inventory, (even watering the plants) is so very much appreciated.
Have a wonderful, healthy, safe summer, and thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, Barbara For more thank-yous, see our "Penguin Pats" page. A message from Dr. Weber
by Byrd students? As you know, new windows have been installed in our building; they look wonderful and were sorely needed! On May 7, however, one of our custodians found a pile of black rubber seal in the second floor boys' bathroom. It had been dug out from around the window and left on the floor. That could only have happened during school hours by OUR students.
This is a photo of the rubber gasket that has AGAIN been ripped out of the windows in the boys’ room on the second floor during school hours. The bathroom sign out/sign in sheet has not helped isolate the boy/boys who continue to vandalize. Please discuss this with your child. |
