Byrd School’s first-ever Jump Rope for Heart event was a huge success! For three weeks before the event, kids practiced their jumping and raised funds for the American Heart Association. On the day of the event: Grades K-2 jumped for the first half of class and played jump rope games for the second half. Grades 3-5 participated in contests where they had two minutes to jump as many times as possible. The top three individuals (and partners) who had the most jumps, and the class that had the most jumps combined received certificates in recognition of their accomplishments.
Funds raised for the event go straight to the American Heart Association for public health education and research.
